Chocolate for Charity? Let Us Know What You Think…

This is a question that’s been going round my head a lot this week.

When Oxfam first launched their Buy A Goat campaign, I remember thinking – genius idea. A few months later a close friend of mine received said goat from her brother in Australia as a birthday present. Her reaction – not the best! She felt good – but a tiny little bit miffed that she only got a card..

This got me thinking. Wouldn’t it be good if you could send a donation gift – but also send the recipient a little something as well – one of our chocolate bars complete with personalised message and gift donation details. A token gift if you like for the recipient – the donation being the main present.

I think so – now I just need to persuade a few charities to take a punt – I really do think it will increase sales. If you know of any good charity contacts that this would be a good fit for – do let us know.

Today We Love…Bouf!

This week we have joined online retailers of design-led lovely things – www.bouf.com.

They have gorgeous products with an emphasis on contemporary British design – so our Royal Wedding chocolate bar looks right at home.

The only thing about this wonderful new partnership is it’s left us feeling a little confused. We’ve absolutely no idea why they are called Bouf and think we might be missing something. We’ve tried spelling it backwards – but Foub makes no sense either. If you can shed light on the mystery, please do share..

Check out our products on the site HERE and HERE.

Doing Our Bit For Charity!

We have just completed some personalised finisher chocolate bars for the lovely people at Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS).

They had 10 runners in the London Marathon helping them raise money and awareness. Fundraiser Kimberley Davidson was looking for a cheap and cheerful way to thank them and we were happy to help out.

I know first hand what a great charity it is as my dad had a heart attack last year and it was a really scary time for the whole family. It was wonderful having their advice line and leaflets to hand, particularly for my poor mum who wanted to make sure when he came home that she was taking care of him correctly. CHSS was a huge support (and he’s making a fantastic recovery now by the way!).

Check out their website here.

Well Wisher Indeed!

We loved the delivery address that an online customer gave for our Wishing You Well chocolate bar today.

The recipient lives in Bath so the address included the extra wording, Getting-Well-Ville, Bath (a nice relaxing one).. Nice.

Time to join the party!

A Royal Wedding doesn’t come around every day so we thought we’d mark the occasion with a suitably tacky memento. Your grand children will be proud to take this along to Antiques Roadshow in 2052.

The cover image was created by photographer/artist Alison Jackson using lookalike models who do look spookily like the real thing!. No approval has been sought for this product – so order quickly while still available!

You can buy this bar directly from us online (UK only for now).
